Wedding Ring

Always wanted to try some jewlery renderings. Here's a quick one of my wedding ring. I'd like to try and design some jewelry from scratch.

Bot Design 2

Here's the sketch and rendering of the robot I came up with for some additional practice.

Mario Kart Crash Course

Over the weekend we had a BBQ and some how my nephew David got a hold of the Mario Kart game. He actually picked it up pretty fast for a 4 year old.

Clay Sculpt Process

This was for a recent project at work where I actually got the chance to sculpt a couple of action figures for a new game. The maquettes seen here are two and a half times the actual size. I started out with a drawing showing the front and side of the character for measuring purposes. I then created an armature out of aluminum wire. Next was to start adding the Chavant NSP clay around the armature. I then had a decent enough clay piece to make an RTV Silicone mold. Out of the mold came a urethane casting that I sanded and cleaned up for about another 40 hours. After that I primered the casting and sent it over to our vendor to make a tool off the part.

Calvin H. Bowers

Sketch done in our monthly teacher's meeting of our minister, Calvin Bowers.

Preparing For Battle

I have been trying to come up with a decent concept for a painting on David and Goliath. Something that is not your typical fight scene. I'm still working on the sketches but here was one of the concepts. I'm trying to capture the battle right before it happens. The moment when David is "Preparing For Battle".

A Man of Sorrows

Isaiah 53:3-7
He is despised and rejected by men, A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him. Surely He has borne our griefs And carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; We have turned, every one, to his own way; And the LORD has laid on Him the iniquity of us all. He was oppressed and He was afflicted, Yet He opened not His mouth; He was led as a lamb to the slaughter, And as a sheep before its shearers is silent, So He opened not His mouth.

The Baptism

So much for starting the year out by keeping this blog updated. Oh well, let's try this one more time. Here's a sketchbook page I recently did. I've been wanting to do a series of faith based sketches and paintings so I started filling up a book to get some ideas.

Based on the verse Matthew 28:19-20 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Amen.
